Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of TaxLite’s website, dashboard, and API (collectively, the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms.
1. Accounts and access
- You’re responsible for activity under your account and for keeping credentials and API keys secure.
- You must provide accurate account information and keep it up to date.
- We may suspend access if we believe an account or API key is compromised or being abused.
2. API usage and acceptable use
- Use the API only in accordance with documentation and any plan limits shown in the dashboard.
- Do not attempt to probe, scan, overload, or reverse engineer the Services.
- Do not use the Services to break the law or to violate the rights of others.
3. TaxLite is not legal or tax advice
TaxLite provides software outputs (rates, jurisdictions, and filing identifiers) intended to help you calculate and report sales tax. TaxLite is not a law firm or accounting firm and does not provide legal or tax advice. You are responsible for validating outputs and meeting your compliance obligations.
4. Billing
- Paid plans, pricing, and included usage are described in the dashboard and pricing page.
- Subscriptions renew unless cancelled. Cancellations take effect per the dashboard controls.
- Overage, if applicable, is billed based on usage as described in the dashboard.
5. Service changes and availability
We work hard to keep the Services available and accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features, endpoints, or data sources over time.
6. Intellectual property
TaxLite and its software, documentation, and branding are owned by TaxLite and its licensors. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Services.
7. Disclaimers
The Services are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TaxLite will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, or data, arising from your use of the Services.
